...... I received a few copies of the latest issue of BE-Mag featuring a cover shot by me of my good friend Oli Short taken in Barcelona last year. Oli also has a great interview inside that we worked on together over last summer with pictures shot in Barcelona, Paris and London.

A picture I took at the opening of the Billionaire Boys Club pop-up shop in London was published in the The Sunday Times Style magazine yesterday. It featured one half of AMBUSH, Yoon Landing, who have recently collaborated with Japanese brand A Bathing Ape. Below that are a few of my favourites from the night.

Showstudio/POP magazine

A few weeks ago I visited the ShowStudio Fashion Revolution exhibition and took part in the interactive castings.

Shortly afterwards, POP magazine Menswear Editor Max Pearmain contacted me asking if I would be willing to take part in the next live shoot at Somerset House styled by himself, photographed by Jason Evans with make-up by Mel Arter. I agreed and experienced what was one of the most fun and inspiring days I've had in a long time. Last Friday saw yours truly go on the other side of the lens once again but this time with the added twist of a live audience and a drummer. Below you can see a couple of snapshots from the day taken from Jason's ongoing online project, thedailynice.com. An editorial from the shoot is to be released in the next issue of POP magazine which is scheduled for release in February 2010.

Nike/Apple iphone

Last month Nike asked me to shoot a number of locations around London for their most recent iphone application. The image here shows St Pauls Astroturf pitch just off Rotherhithe St. The locations were selected by the group of creatives that work with Nike in London in an effort to give an insight into the places that they go to for inspiration or to relax. Unfortunately I don't have an iphone so I haven't viewed the application myself but if its anything like the Nike I-D application i'm sure it will be worth downloading.

Back in April of this year I toured Europe with the a few members of the NIMH team and documented our travels for ONE magazine based in San Diego. Can't wait for the magazine to actually drop through the letterbox. Check out a preview of the new issue here.

King Apparel AW 09

Having assisted Neil Bedford on a number of the shoots for King Apparel's advertising over the past year I was asked to feature in the Autumn/winter ad campaign as well as carrying out my usual assisting role. Following being in the adverts I returned a couple weeks later to shoot the final advert myself featuring Daniel Clarke and Shaun Witherup, which can be seen below and is also featured in the latest issue of Sidewalk.

When you start a blog it seems that something awakens inside of you that requires you to start checking out other blogs. It also seems that the more you blog the more you want to check out other blogs. Before long you find yourself reading so many blogs you want to write on your blog about other blogs and you're discussing with people which blogs you're into and why the blogs you look at are the best blogs. Here is a fun video blog I just came across, while reading Patrick O'Dell's blog and then being linked to NYpress and then googling Lance Mountain who was listed in the article I was reading on NYpress. Road Trip

The weekend before last saw me making my annual visit to Liverpool for the Slamm Jamm competition at Rampworks skatepark. As per usual on these short skate trips I did my best to keep camera to eye at all times and document the weekend as much as possible. We got stuck in tons of traffic but only one quite major injury occured which is good going considering the way things usually go. I also managed to find a roll of film from Sweden that I thought I'd lost, more holiday snaps up soon.

Finland

My brother is currently living in Finland and had a week off so I flew out to visit him last Monday. We caught a boat to Sweden part way through the week and then I flew home from there. I think I may have mislaid one of the films I shot there but hopefully it'll materialise soon as its the one with all my pictures from the boat. Here are a few pictures from Finland, Sweden pictures to follow.

More often than not I end up shooting more film than I can afford to develop and scan and so seem to have a constant backlog of pictures waiting to come to life. I've recently been able to develop a load of film that I had from over summer and found time to scan it. The only thing missing was actually be able to go in the darkroom to do my own prints and contact sheets. I'm really enjoying shooting lots of film again and continuing to explore how to get the best from it, which I imagine i'll be doing for as long as I keep taking pictures. (click images to enlarge)

Over the past few years I've tried to keep some form of sketchbook with all my developing ideas, notes, scribbles tests etc and anything else that I want to keep a record of. This picture is part of an ongoing portrait project focusing on rollerbladers that I have met over the years and continue to meet on my travels. The medium is the same as that used by a fairly well-known artist to capture his subjects before turning the images into bold, colourful paintings.

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky to be present at one of the More Than a Game tour stops in Crystal Palace. As part of the tour NBA MVP of 2009 Lebron James was giving short coaching sessions and was interviewed about his rise from high school talent to NBA star and what steps he has taken to ensure that he stays on top of his game. I managed to get a few snaps despite a very annoying and persistent papparazzi style photographer who felt the need to stand in front of anyone else taking a photo that day. NIMH advert featuring Oli Short

A picture I shot in Barcelona earlier this year of NIMH europe's pro rider Oli Short has been used as the latest NIMH advert featured in issue 33 of BE-Mag. The advert was also made into an A1 poster that was given out on the Animhals tour earlier this year. I have a few left over so if you'd like to get your hands on one please get in contact. Right up until I graduated from university my walls were covered in skate posters that I'd collected since the age of 11 so to have had one of my favourite pictures made into a poster feels great. Hopefully it's found its place on many a bedroom wall.

Thanks to Oli for wanting to "make it perfect".

Labour and Wait

I finally managed to get my hands on a copy of the most recent issue of the New Order magazine for which I've been assisting on a lot of the fashion shoots but also shot some portraits of Simon and Rachel from Labour and Wait just off Brick Lane. They came out just how I wanted them so hopefully I'll have more commissions from New Order in the future. On a separate note, I really need a new scanner.

I've not long come back from a trip to the States, a few pictures to follow. I say a few as I decided to put my camera down a lot of the time and just enjoy wedding festivities amongst other things, it was definitely time for a break, now I'm back I'm fired up to start snapping lots again. Trying to keep on top of a blog without a laptop is near impossible, I really need to acquire one, one way or another. Anyone up for a (relatively) small donation to the SJB laptop fund?

Off to the BAPE party at 24:London tonight. Mark Ronson is Dj'ing so it should be good fun. Thanks to Annoushka for the invite.
